Old BSA singles are a perfect example of why I love these machines. They’re simple, mechanical, and full of character. But getting one started can sometimes test your patience, your leg, and your knowledge of exactly where that piston needs to be.
After years of working on these bikes at ECR, I started thinking about how to make that part of the process a little easier. That led to First Kick: a simple mechanical device that helps position the crankshaft in the right place for starting.
